Fred Ayala, 97, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on September 18, 2015. Fred was survived by his wife of 67 years, Rose, and his three children, Daniel Ayala (Janet), Linda Rivera (Luis) and Fred Ayala (Kelly). He will also be dearly missed by his 9 grandchildren, Amy, Steven, Amanda, Jerald, Joseph, Michael, Amber, Annamarie, and Lauren Ashley and his 10 great grandchildren. Fred was a native of Ybor City and a proud veteran of World War II. He served in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945 with the 157th infantry, 45th infantry division in the European Campaign. Our family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Florida Hospital Tampa for their kind and compassionate care during his illness. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 6 to 8PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home. Funeral service will then take place on Wednesday, September 23 at 10AM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
