Frank J. Pluzsik 85 of Port Richey, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 5, 2016. Born in Cleveland, Ohio Frank moved to Hungary as a toddler. At the age of 16 Frank moved back to the United States and settled in New York City. Frank started working as a butcher at Joseph Mertl’s Pork Store in Manhattan; and years later became a partner in the business. On August 29, 1953 Frank married the love of his life, Gladys Reese, whom he met at a Hungarian dance. They settled in Flushing, NY where they raised their three children. They bought a home in Demarest, NJ and lived there until his retirement. After retirement they moved to Hillsborough, NH and then on to Port Richey, FL. Frank loved gardening, fishing, camping and painting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He adored his wife and children and most especially his 6 grandchildren. He was a kind man who loved helping anyone in need, and brought home many a stray animal. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Frank is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys Pluzsik, his daughter Diane Goodfield and her husband Jeff of FL, his daughter Margaret Fogg and husband Eben of, MA, and his son Frank Pluzsik and wife Andrea of NJ; his six grandchildren Zachary Goodfield, Eben Fogg, Maggie Fogg, Stephen Pluzsik, Matthew Pluzsik and Danielle Pluzsik. A burial of ashes will be held in the spring.
