90, peacefully passed away on 11-15-15 as a result of Alzheimer’s. She was born in New York City. Fran was a WWII bride who married the love of her life Alex, was stationed in California and Japan before transferring to MacDill AFB in 1950. She was widowed after a short 12 years of marriage and left to raise 4 young children who cherished and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jon and Felicia Jambor, brothers Joe and Stephen Jambor, sisters: Ann Prigoda, Stephanie Watral and Eleanor Bongiovanni and lifelong companion John L. Griffin. She is survived by her children: Roger Siling (Judy), daughters: Jane Siling, Martha S. Deckard, and Carol S. Goodyear (Jim); grandchildren: Jon Deckard, Jason Siling, Cory Siling, Denise D. Castillo, Carol Laney D. Hecht and Rebecca Goodyear as well as 6 great-grandchildren. Her sister Juliana Smith and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. She worked as a receptionist at Tampa Veterinary Hospital for 34 yrs. until retiring. She was the family matriarch who held family and friends dear. Her love of life, even during hard times was contagious to all she met. She was so proud of her Slovak heritage and instilled that value upon her children.The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 5th at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave. from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 12pm. There will be a private family burial. A reception will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at daughter Jane’s home.
