Dorothy Gibson

Dorothy "Dot" Gibson, went on to be with her heavenly father on March 29, 2024. Born in Sydney, Florida on June 18, 1932, to William and Alice Jones, she grew up in Tampa and Sydney, Florida, and was voted "Best All-Around" when she graduated from Turkey Creek High School in 1950. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Rondall Gibson, daughter, Sharon Gibson, and son, James Rondall Gibson, Jr. She is survived by her children, Karon Gibson Allen and Richard Alan Gibson, granddaughter, Jamie Gibson Brownrigg, and great-grandchildren, Triston and Violet, daughter-in-law, Pauline Jackson and her husband Eric, sister, Patsy Hawkins and her husband, Barry, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be interned with her husband in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Cypress Creek Baptist Church Missionary Program, P. O. A visitation for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Blount & Curry FH-Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 S. W. 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
