She was born in West Homestead, PA to Pearl and Harold Foy on Sept. 29, 1955. She graduated from Steel Valley H.S. in 1973 before enlisting in the USAF. She served as a Sergeant E-4 Radio Communications Analysis Specialist between 1973 and 1977, with a one and a half year tour at Karamursel Air Station in Turkey.
After her time in the service, she enrolled in college at the University of South Florida, and graduated with a BA in 1980, and a Masters in Sociology in 1989.
Donna and Tom married on April 9th, 1988 in Winchester, VA, and spent nearly 34 years of happy marriage in their home in Odessa, FL, where they raised their two children, Liz and John.
Donna dedicated her life to service. In addition to the Air Force, she held several leadership roles at her church of 32 years, Keystone UMC, and spent the last 17 years working as a Matching Specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, which was a cause near to her heart.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Pearl Foy, and her aunt, Evelyn Patterson.
She is survived by her husband Tom, her children, Liz and John (Ashley) Gans, granddaughter Isabelle, granddog Hank, brothers Matt (Grace) and David Foy, and many extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service is planned for April 9th, 2022 at 11:00am at Keystone UMC on Race Track Road, Odessa, FL.
A burial service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA. Date and details TBA.
