Donald Lee Turner

Don was born to late Marvin Wilson Turner and Ora June Dodge Gipson in St. Louis, Missouri. He served in the Navy from 1957-1961. He married his wife Donna Jean Schlange Turner May 2, 1964. They moved to Florida in May 1975 where he worked for the Pinellas County Government in Clearwater for 21 years before retiring.

Don is survived by his wife Donna; daughters June Swan and Jane Bolt; his grandchildren Lacie Conner, Samuel Swan and Haley Swan; great-grandchildren Nolan Swan, Olivia Swan, Emily Swan and Grayson Swan; brothers Marvin L. Turner and William J. Turner. He is preceded in death by his sister Mary Jane Donahou and his parents.

Don was a kind and caring man that always wanted to help anyone that needed it. He loved to joke and make you smile. He was loved by all that knew him and will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

The services for Don are listed below and all are welcome to come. The family has designated his mother’s favorite charity: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association for memorial contributions.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 in the Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, Florida 33618 from 9:30am - 10:30am, followed by a service. Interment with Military Honors will be at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Florida 33513 at 1pm.
