On December 4, 2024, heaven welcomed another angel home, Diane Allegra. Born May 6, 1939, in Melrose, Massachusetts, and moved to Palm Harbor Florida in 1978 and then 20 years later, to Mount Dora, Florida with her husband Joseph, who passed in 2013. During their 49-year marriage, they shared three children, Richard, Michael (Beth) and Denise, along with three grandchildren, Hailey, Rachel, and James. Diane graduated Magna Cum Laude from Salem State University in 1961 with a degree in education. Teaching in both Massachusetts and Florida, Diane was able to share her love of writing, particularly poetry, and reading with her young elementary students for a combined 16 years. Diane was an avid gardener with a special penchant for roses. She enjoyed swimming, shopping, decorating, her pets, and volunteering. She loved Bridge, so much so she achieved Gold Life Master. Diane will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A private service will be held in Massachusetts where Diane will join her husband in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in West Peabody, Massachusetts.
