Danny was born on August 1, 1981, in Riverside, California to Danny Davis and Joyce M. Davis. A dedicated husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Danny graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama where he fostered his love of sports, technology, and video gaming. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 2001. Over his 18 years of service he served at Lackland AFB, Sheppard AFB, Elmendorf AFB, Mountain Home AFB, Goodfellow AFB, Cannon AFB, Hurlburt Field, and MacDill AFB being well respected and known as dependable, supportive, and a beacon of guidance for his colleagues. In 2006, Danny married the love of his life, Marketta Nelson and together they adopted their kids affectionally known as their Fur Babies: Tortoiseshell cat, Pumpkin, Australian Shepherd, Shayla, and Siberian Husky, Axel. An adventurous soul, Danny enjoyed fantasy films, anime, building computers, physical fitness and an active outdoors life. A natural comedian, Danny loved to laugh and joke with his colleagues and family alike and was not shy to play practical jokes on everyone. He loved Thundercats and dedicated an entire floor of his home to his favorite sports team, the Alabama Crimson Tide. Rivaling the excitement of all his passions, was his elation at the expectation of his and his wife’s first child.
Danny is survived by his wife, Marketta A. Davis; fur babies, Pumpkin, Shayla, and Axel; parents Danny and Joyce M. Davis; sister Jaleesa D. Davis.
A funeral service will be held 1100 Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, Tampa, FL. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Danny will be laid to rest at 1400 in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. A memorial service will be held 1200 Friday, July 26, 2019 at the MacDill Air Force Base Chapel, Tampa, FL. A celebration of Danny’s life will immediately follow in the Chapel Annex.
