Cory Ryan Ptak

Cory Ryan Ptak, 29, of Apollo Beach, Florida passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Saint Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by his family. Cory graduated from Chamberlain High School Tampa, FL in 2004 and attended USF. Cory had a special love for all sports and especially baseball. Cory leaves behind his loving parents, Anita Brandon Ptak of Apollo Beach, FL and William Ptak of Tampa, FL; grandparents, Harold and Jerma Sue Brandon of Benton, KY; grandmother, Loretta Ptak of Brooksville, FL; uncles and aunts, Bob and Mary Ptak, Marlboro, MA, Ray and Peggy Ptak, Middletown, NY, Pat and Felice Lamanna, Homosassa, FL, Jeff and Lea Ann Brandon, Benton, KY, Keith and Carol Steele, Benton, KY; along with several cousins. Cory was preceded in death by his grandfather, Walter “Poppy” Ptak and great-grandmother, Earlene “Granny” Ray. A visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with the Celebration of Life service from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the Blount and Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel. Cory’s uncle, Keith Steele will be officiating. Anita Ptak, 56, of Tampa, FL passed away unexpectedly while on vacation in Alaska. She was born in Ft. Gordon GA. After her marriage, she relocated to Boston, MA, and then Tampa, FL in 1998. She was employed with TESINC in Tampa as an accounting manager for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Cory. She will be sadly missed by co-workers, family, and friends. A gathering will be held on Sat. Sept. 22, 2018 at Blount and Curry Carrollwood (3207 W Bearss Ave. Tampa FL) at 2 pm with a memorial service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Anita’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.
