Colleen Erin Cawthon, after a short battle with cancer, passed away on December 10, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents Tip and Pat Sutton and her older sister Patricia Sutton. She is survived by her children: Robyn Wade (Howard), Christian Cawthon, and Marissa Cawthon; step-grandchildren; her siblings: Chris Sutton (Pam) and Kelly Bowen (Scott); and dear friend and angel, Linda Weisman. Colleen loved the beach, fishing, lighthouses, diamond-bead paintings, going to concerts, and above all her 3 children. Her top priority and passion were her children. She loved to share stories about them, pictures of their vacations to various places, fun times, quiet times, and just spending a family meal with them. She loved her children and wanted nothing but the best for them. Colleen’s favorite time of the year was Christmas and the decorating that goes along with it. Nearly every year there was some special homemade ornament or decoration made by her as a gift to the family. Once a beach baby always a beach baby. Colleen’s “Happy Place” was the beach. Life couldn’t get any better for her than warm weather, the smell of salt air, and her toes in the sand. She enjoyed travelling to warm destinations to experience other beaches. On her days off, she would spend lounging in her pool and reading books on her favorite pool float. Colleen enjoyed social media and enjoyed staying in contact with her FB friends.
Colleen grew up in Linwood, NJ, graduated from Mainland Regional High School where she was in the Drill Squad, of the award-winning marching band. She was a member of the squad until she graduated. Colleen moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 1995 for a job opportunity and it allowed her to escape the cold. Colleen thoroughly enjoyed the Florida weather, well except the hurricanes. She had a dream to move to the “West Coast” and folks that’s not California, but the west coast of Florida and Tampa became her home. Colleen’s last workplace and her most favorite was with Catalina Marketing Corporation. They were more than just co-workers; they were friends and family. They brought a great deal of joy to her life.
