Barb Tolbert

83, of Tampa, passed away on Tuesday, Nov 28th. Barb was born in Bicknell, Indiana and graduated from Bicknell High School, was a member of Alpha Phi sorority and a Varsity Cheerleader at Indiana University and completed her Masters at Tampa University. She taught elementary school for 32 years at Sidney Lanier and Grady Elementary. She was a longtime member of Bayshore Baptist Church, a church Deacon, leader of Sassy Seniors, and manager of the Bayshore Prayer Line. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Tolbert, M.D. She is survived by her sons: Robert Tolbert Jr (and Louan), Chris Tolbert (and Cindy), and Terry Tolbert (and Jen); grandchildren Tyler, Scott, Wes (and Hayley), Todd (and Lexi), T.J. and Katie, great-grandchildren Smith and Georgia, sister Margaret Siek; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec 2nd from 4-6pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave Tampa, FL. The memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, Dec 3rd at 3pm at Bayshore Baptist Church, 3111 West Morrison Avenue, Tampa, FL, with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. The burial will be private at Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Barb’s honor to: Bayshore Baptist Church.
