Arrayah Sue Barrett, age two, was born April 19, 2021 to parents Shaquil and Jordanna Barrett. Arrayah was the youngest of the family’s four children, joining brothers Shaquil Jr., Braylon, and sister Aaliyah. Arrayah Barrett went to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 30th, 2023.
Arrayah’s smile brought so much joy to anyone who encountered her. Everybody knew that Arrayah had her daddy wrapped around her finger and was the sunshine in her mama’s eyes. There was something about that sweet and sassy voice that just made your heart sing. Arrayah’s energy was unmatched. She loved to sing. She loved to laugh. She was SO smart. Arrayah Barrett had HER way with everyone. There was a sparkle in her eyes that drew your attention. Her endearing nature was so kind and magnetic.
Arrayah knew how to stretch bedtime. Sometimes that meant chasing her around the crib, knowing that somebody had some explaining to do with bedtime rules. She had a contagious burst of energy, and never seized to brighten any room she entered. She was so incredibly smart, and knew every word to her favorite movie songs. Humming and singing and dancing along. She smiled from the minute she woke; to the second she went to sleep. She loved her cartoons. Cocomelon, trolls, and baby shark were her absolute favorite. She would grab her bottle, watch her tv, and hold her blankie full of pacifiers, smiling with an up to no good grin. Naturally, her movies had to become everyone’s new favorite, as it was her world, we were all just living in it. So much that we would sing baby shark ALL day long. We can’t discount the fact that Arrayah even loved Cocomelon… in Spanish.
Arrayah is survived by her immediate family; her paternal grandparents, Donyetta Hawkins and Steve Barrett (NeeNee); her maternal grandparents, Jeff and Angie Busch; along with a loving extended family which includes aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
A private funeral service will be held this Friday, May 5. In lieu of donations, the Barrett family is requesting all in attendance to honor Arrayah’s memory by wearing bright colors on Friday.
