92, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Angie was born on January 31, 1927 in Tampa and proudly grew up in West Tampa. She attended Hillsborough High School and graduated from Florida State University. On December 27, 1952, Angie married Armando C. Messina, D.D.S. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. They shared fifty two years together devoted to family and faith. She was a medical technologist in the labs at Duke University, Dallas Memorial Hospital, and for twenty years at the Southwest Florida Blood Bank at Tampa General Hospital. For years she also worked side by side with her husband, Armando, managing his dental office until his retirement. Angie was a past member of the Dental Auxiliary of Hillsborough County, the Pan American Women’s Club and the Tampa Women’s Club. She was active in both Sacred Heart and OLPH parishes. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She greeted everyone with her warm smile and took delight and care in preparing and serving traditional Sunday family dinners. Angie was present for every occasion, award and sporting event for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Armando C. Messina D.D.S. She will be dearly missed by those who survive her: son, Michael P. Messina (Patti); daughter, Angela M. Hardin (Jacob); grandchildren: Michael C. Messina (Annette), Sara M. Jennewein (Andrew); step-grandchildren: Jeremy Hardin and Lauren Hardin; great-grandchildren: Michael V. Messina and Lila M. Messina; brother, Domenic Castellano; sister-in-law, Rose Valdes and beloved nieces and nephews. A visitation will take place at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2019 at OLPH Catholic Church with a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., internment to follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
