Ana M. Capote, wife, mother and homemaker, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2023 at the age of 94. Daughter of Rafael and Ana Pedrosa, Ana was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba, and grew up in Havana. She married her beloved Jorge A. Capote in 1955 and had 65 cherished years together before his death in 2020. She is survived by her children Madelaine, Jorge (Odalys) and Frank, 7 grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeff), Joseph (Courtney), Jorge (Amanda), Christopher, Devin, Damien and Destiny and 7 beautiful great-grandchildren: Juliana, Theodore, Johnathan, Remington, Ofelia, Jacqueline and Eloise.
Ana was a talented artist and seamstress and loved to cook for her family. She took great pride in her Cuban heritage and passed down her traditions and recipes to her children. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family, including her beloved pet cats: Cookie, Puter and Simone.
In her later years, Ana faced health challenges that tested her strength and resilience. Despite these
ifficulties, she remained determined and fought fiercely to maintain her independence and dignity. Her courage and tenacity inspired all who knew her.
Ana’s passing is a profound loss for her family and friends, she will be deeply missed but always remembered for her love, kindness, and unwavering spirit. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who will carry on her traditions and cherish her memory.
In the words of the poet Dylan Thomas, "Do not go gentle into that good night, old age should burn and rave at close of day; rage, rage against the dying of the light." Ana's life embodied these sentiments, and she leaves behind a shining example of strength and perseverance for us all.
A funeral service will take place at 11:30am on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Blount And Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. 33618. The family will receive friends from 10:30am until the time of service. A reception will follow the service before the internment taking place at 2pm at Garden of Memories located at 4101 E. Lake Ave. Tampa, FL.
