To top it all: was an exceptional father not just 2 his natural daughters but also to his stepdaughters. And was also an unbelievable grandfather and did a great job spoiling them, God blessed him with a great grandson. Let me tell you just how special Abelardo was. My daughter Elizabeth became very friends with him and at the beginning of November 2002 she told him that she wanted to do something special for my birthday but she needed money to do that, and he went ahead and asked her “Will you like me to help you with that?”. They went ahead and planned a surprise birthday. On Thursday November 14th I walked into the church and Abelardo started to sing happy birthday and later on that night he asked if I would mind if he would ask me to go out that Saturday. I was surprised and I accepted and he told me the girls are coming with us. Saturday came and I was taken to the bowling alley and afterwards was taken to Red Lobster.
That was the beginning of a special and wonderful journey together. December 6, 2002 he asked me to be his girlfriend. September 1, 2003 he took my daughters and I to the Holy land Experience in Orlando Florida and there he told the girls to go feed the sheep and goats and of course my daughters decided to give them mint because the sheep had bad breath. Meanwhile Abelardo used that time to present me with most beautiful and very expensive engagement ring, he got on one knee showed me the ring and asked me if I would consider accepting to be his wife. After I allowed my heart beat to come down a little- I said yes.
After that we set our wedding date to be December 6, 2003 at 7PM. We spent our wedding night at the Double Tree Suites. Monday morning we got in an airplane flew to Puerto Rico for our honeymoon. We stayed at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Ponce, Puerto Rico. We traveled the island and enjoyed our stay there, in eight days we came back to Orlando and enjoyed three more days before getting to my new home. Abelardo became my spouse, my lover, my friend, and my confident. A great respect and admiration grew between us from the time our life where united in holy matrimony. He lived to honor, respect, and spoil me, and loved me like I never knew you could be loved.
On Mother’s day May 10,2015 I have lost the love of my life and I will miss him because he was a precious jewel that is very hard to find. My hope is that when it is my time to depart from this earth I know that he will be waiting for me in heaven and he will be presenting me to his parents and he will tell them “ this is my beautiful wife, my blanquita” .
Till I see you again “mi negrito” .
You will be missed greatly.
