Tobi was born in northern Texas, the youngest of three daughters. Growing up, she had many adventures - from getting into mischief with her sisters on the family farm, to briefly joining a biker gang, to working with her father on a boat in Alaska. But her favorite adventure began when she visited her best friend, Judy, in Tallahassee and decided to stay, soon meeting the love of her life, Gerry. From almost the first time they met they never left each other's side, marrying in 1983 and raising their daughter, Rachel, in a quiet country farmhouse outside of town. She worked in various administrative jobs, including most recently at Westminster Oaks, before retiring in 2018.
Tobi was a fantastic seamstress, and loved making quilts and clothes. She donated many handmade pet blankets to the humane society and gave personalized quilts to friends and family. Tobi was known for her generosity, compassion and selflessness. She was a loyal friend, full of joy and laughter, and never lost her endearing Texas twang.
Tobi is survived by her husband of 41 years, Gerry; daughter Rachel (Andrew); granddaughter Micaela; sisters Ricki and Marsha; and many family and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
There will be a celebration of life on the afternoon of December 15, 2024. For more information, please contact the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leon County Humane Society.
