Susan was born in Boston, MA and has been an off and on Tallahassee resident since 1978. Susan was a Registered Nurse for 44 years. She received her nursing training and education at Grace New Haven School of Nursing, which was a part of Yale University. Susan worked the last 20 years of her career for Tallahassee Memorial Hospital as a Home Health Care Nurse. During those 20 years she cared for patients in Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson, and Wakulla Counties. Susan loved nursing so much that she turned down promotional opportunities so that she could continue taking personal care of patients.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Madelon Baltzer, as well as a sister, Christine Baltzer Parks, and a son Richard “Rick” Miller, who died in a motorcycle accident in Tallahassee in 1987.
Susan is survived by her husband of 49 years, James H. Green, a daughter Natalie Green Marino and a son David Bryan Green all of Tallahassee. Susan is also survived by a stepson, David Miller of Ormond Beach, FL. She is also survived by a sister, Sally Baltzer Hargan from North Miami Beach, FL; a brother Allan Isham of Prescott AZ; and a brother John Isham of Bradenton, FL.
After Susan and Jim’s retirements in 2001 they bought a 40’ diesel pusher motor home and traveled to all the States in the U.S., except Hawaii. They spent one summer in Alaska. Susan and Jim lived the motor home lifestyle and spent a total of 12 ½ years living and traveling in their motor home. They visited almost all the National Parks and many State Parks.
