Rita was born on November 6, 1935 in Belleville, Illinois, the daughter of the late
Dr. Vincent Holdener and Rita May (Clark) Holdener. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Belleville, in 1953.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Cole and brother, Roger V. Holdener, nieces, Jennifer Perkins and Donna Mehr and many dear-to-her cousins.
Retired from the Leon County Public Library. She enjoyed living these last years with her friends at Westminster Gardens where she will be missed. She liked working on family genealogy and playing Words with Friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she was a faithful member for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday, June 14, at 1:00pm. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, French Village, Illinois.
