Paula Kaye Arnett Taylor

Mrs. Taylor was born on August 25, 1947 in Moultrie Georgia. She grew up on a farm in Bay, Georgia. Paula graduated with a degree in elementary education from Valdosta State College and a masters degree from Florida State University. She married her husband, David, in 1973 and they enjoyed a wonderful 50 years together.

Paula was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Tallahassee and she loved the Lord and her country. She was blessed with many friends and influenced hundreds of students in her educational career. She taught at Springwood Elementary in Tallahassee and retired from the Leon County school system. In recent years, she enjoyed volunteering at Buck Lake Elementary in her grandson’s first grade class.

Along with teaching Paula also enjoyed shopping for bargains, playing cards with friends, spending time with her grandson and visiting their mountain house in Blue Ridge, GA.

She is survived by her husband David, son Chadwick (Kelli Upchurch), grandson William Van, stepson Keith Taylor (Alison Taylor), grand daughters Katie and Kimberly, sisters Robbie Briggs, Kittie Gandy, Debbie Green, and brother Bob Arnett. as well as many other family and close friends.

The Taylor family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home – Timberlane Road Chapel. Funeral services will held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Tallahassee. Interment will take place at the Funston Cemetery in Funston, GA.
