Patricia May Tepe (Pat), age 89, of Tallahassee, Florida, previously of Bellbrook, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, in her home at St. Augustine Plantation located in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born August 16, 1935, in New Rumley, Ohio, the daughter of Howard and Elsie (Miller) Pfeiffer.
Pat was an avid reader and bird watcher, with a special love of hummingbirds. She served as a Girl Scout leader, enjoyed knitting and other crafts, and purple was her favorite color. Pat and her family are members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tallahassee and formerly of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Centerville, Ohio. She had an in-home daycare for many years in Bellbrook and remembered those children fondly. She later worked at Macy’s department store in Tallahassee as a bridal consultant.
Pat is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 67 years, Lawrence (Larry) Tepe, to whom she was married on October 19, 1957; and their children, Barbara (Steve) Dunaway of Dayton, Ohio, Matthew (Kathy) Tepe of Louisville, Colorado, Elizabeth (Owen) Robertson of Tampa, Florida, and Rebecca (Jim) Cross of Tallahassee, Florida, who has been the caretaker of her parents for several years; daughter-in-law, Cindy Hatton Tepe of Vandalia, Ohio; grandchildren, Erin Tepe of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Aidan Tepe of Louisville, Colorado; sister, Melanie (Bob) Rennicker of Dover, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Nancy Scott of Bowerston, Ohio; in-laws: Richard (Bert) Tepe, Charles (Connie) Tepe, and Jeanette Tepe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Tepe, and brothers in her heart, John and Ronald Scott.
Thank you to the staff of St. Augustine Plantation and the service providers of Big Bend Hospice that were so supportive in her final days.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Patricia May Tepe at 11:00am on October 26, 2024, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Tallahassee. A private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Cincinnati, Ohio.
