Mildred “Mickey” Moran, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Tallahassee on November 3rd, surrounded by her family and devoted caregivers. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1934 to Thomas and Mildred Walsh, the eldest of 15 siblings, which instilled in her a deep appreciation for family and a rich connection to her Irish heritage.
Mickey was predeceased by her cherished husband, John Moran, with whom she shared 65 years of love and companionship. She is survived by her sons—Kevin, Sean, Brian, and Ralph Gallo—and their wives; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts
After a successful career in the reinsurance industry in New York City, Mickey retired and moved to Tallahassee in 1997 to be closer to her family. Embracing her new community, she became actively involved in Good Shepherd Catholic Church, eventually leading the Young at Heart group, where she formed lasting friendships and shared her joy for life.
Mickey was passionate about reading, traveling, cruising, and cherishing moments with her children and grandchildren. She created a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to her dedicated caregivers—Thelma Powell, Stephanie Montgomery, and Devonna Arnold—whose devotion and compassion greatly enhanced her quality of life in her later years.
Mickey’s vibrant spirit and unwavering love for her family will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all the lives she touched.
