Martin Louis Arnold (Marty) , was born on October 4th 1953 along with his twin sister, Mimi Faith Arnold (Shaw) in Syracuse NY. Martin Louis Arnold was born to Father Alan Richard Arnold) of Syracuse N.Y. and Mother- Frances Harriet Solomon, of Scranton Pennsylvania.
Marty had four other brothers and sisters including Marc, Joseph, Nanci and Wendy.
Martys brothers Joeseph and Marc, and his parents Frances and Richard) have passed before him and are greatly missed.
Marty was also blessed with two Stepsisters in his young life for 7 years, Lisa and Leslie Deyulio.
Frances and Richard were young and in love, and they wrote letters to one another during World War Two. Richard fought on the front lines at the Battle of the Bulge, survived, and was one of 7 to make it into Buchenwald, to liberate that camp. Marty served four years in the Navy on the USS Fort Fischer in service to our country, and he traveled to distant lands to bring home the wounded and the dying. This was a prolific experience for him at the age of 17.
The choice to serve our Country for the sake of Democracy was instilled in him, by his Fathers sacrifice, and was a personal commitment that both Father and Son held as necessary and dear.
Marty never married or had children. His immediate family was his rock, and his nephews and nieces were his pride.
Marty’s life was filled with love of and for his family, for his friends, for his pets, for nature and wildlife, and of course, his Faith in his religion and mankind.
Marty’s belief in the good in people has always endured along with his amazing sense of humor and empathy for others, along with his ability to survive and adapt to the most adverse of situations.
Marty is our Hero .
Marty will be loved and cherished by all who knew him, and may his memory be a blessing.
A graveside service for Martin will be held Monday, July 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Florida 32311.
