Marion Roberts Grimes, 93, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend died on December 8th, 2024. Born in Greensboro, Florida on August 6th, 1931, she is survived by her sons; Kenneth (Donna) Grimes and Andrew (Ethel) Grimes of Havana, Florida and Paul (Allison) Grimes of Tallahassee, Florida. Grandchildren; Amanda (Chad) Ulmer of Havana, Florida; Jake (Caitlin) Grimes of Crawfordville, Florida; Kaylan Grimes of Tallahassee, Florida and Josh Grimes of Orlando, Florida. Great-grandchildren; Evalyn and Jonathan Ulmer of Havana, Florida; Wrenley Grimes of Crawfordville, Florida and Greysen Nelson of Tallahassee. Florida. She is also survived by a brother Otto ‘Buddy’ Roberts of Quincy Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Clayton Grimes of Tallahassee. And parents Clarence and Maggie Roberts of Quincy, Florida.
Marion spent her life as a seamstress and homemaker, raising three boys and committing her time to the service of others. She was especially known for her cooking with many recipes sought after by both family and friends.
A lifelong member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Marion served as a Sunday School Teacher, member of the Women’s Missionary Union and was involved in the growth of the church for many years. She is remembered for her compassionate spirit and love for the Lord.
A celebration of Marion’s life will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Memorial donations may be made to the building fund at Fellowship Baptist Church in the name of Marion Grimes.
