Kitty was born March 2, 1922 in Scottsville Kentucky to Finley and Lena Duncan. One of three daughters (Earline and Gladys), she married Art Wesley Forehand in 1942 before he entered the service. Upon his return they moved to Gainesville and then Tallahassee where she lived with her daughter, Judy. Kitty and Autha were married 69 years before he went to our Lord. Kitty then moved to Saint Cloud to live with her daughter and husband, Claude, where she spent her final days surrounded by many generations of family who have been blessed by her love – children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even a great-great-grandson.
Kitty had many talents and interests including her love for gardening, however, her main passion was always her family. Her unconditional love, selfless generosity and encouraging wit will be missed by the generations of family she leaves behind, though we are comforted to know she’s rejoicing with her husband and sisters for eternity.
Kitty is survived by her only child, Judy Shipley (Claude); 3 grandchildren, Art Shipley (Sarah), Gene Shipley (Lori), Kathy Small (Bob); 7 great-grandchildren, Hayden Shipley (Kelly), Addison Shipley, Chase Shipley (Emmie), Hayley Wilson (Cooper), Chandler Small, Turner Small (Bailey) and Fletcher Small; and a great-great-grandson: Maverick Small (as well as numerous, cherished nieces and nephews)
Her family welcomes you to a Celebration of Life Service this Friday, March 31st at 2 p.m. at Culley’s Meadow Wood Funeral Home,7 00 Timberland Rd. The internment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please honor Kitty and her Lord by making a donation to a charity of your choice.
