Joseph is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Pagano of Orlando; wife Amy; children, Lauren Nicole, Michael, and Lindsey; sister, Michele (Steve) Distler; nieces and nephew, Emily, Katie, and Andrew of Orlando. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Pagano.
Joseph was born on October 15, 1962 in Bronx, New York`. His family moved to Florida in 1975. He graduated from Bishop Moore High School in 1980 followed by UCF and UAB Medical School in 1992. He did his residency and fellowship in Anesthesiology and went on to do a second fellowship at UF Shands in Pain and Addiction Medicine in 2004. This is where he found his true calling and passion to serve others. He served as medical director of Pain Management at UF Shands until 2010. Joe continued on his path of service for the remainder of his life in Tallahassee as the Medical Director of the Physician Partners Chronic Pain Management Clinic. He loved his office staff and was blessed to be a part of the TMH Family.
Joe enjoyed spending his time with his family traveling, cruising, camping, fishing, and vacationing at the beach. He was so very proud of his children and enjoyed spending this special time with them on their morning car rides to school everyday.
He was a passionate NASCAR fan and loved cheering for his hometown team, the FSU Seminoles, at every game. He was an avid reader and always looking to learn something new.
He was deeply involved in church, boy scouts, prison ministry, and Celebrate Recovery. He was a devoted husband and father who always put his family first after his faith.
The family would like to personally thank the following people who took such great care of Joe on his long journey: Dr. Greg Perry, Dr. Bendre and the radiation staff, Dr. Broeseker and his staff, especially Gloria who worked tirelessly to make sure Joe’s comfort and care was her number one priority, the infusion team, the TMH hospital staff and his MD Anderson doctors, Dr. Fowler and Dr. Strati. Their commitment to Joe’s health and well being will never be forgotten.
