Joe Walker, Jr.

He was a son of the late Joseph Walker, Sr. and Martha Patterson Walker. Joe Walker was born in Hammond, Louisiana on November 26, 1935. Joe retired from the U.S. Army in 1968.

He was a member of the St. Paul Primitive Baptist in Tallahassee, Florida and enjoyed writing, and socializing with friends and relatives. He attended Florida A&M University, was a member of the basketball, football and track teams.

Joe was preceded in death by his sister Maxine Marshall, & brother Bernard Walker.

Joe is survived by his wife Jeanette Washington Walker of 58 years; son Darryl Walker, daughter Sonia Walker, sister in laws Barbara Jean Walker, Ruth Griffin, & Ethyl Washington. Nephews: Anthony Ogilivie, Craig Washington, Joseph Washington, Bruce Washington, Gary Washington, John Washington, Jr., Larry Washington, Andre Washington, Sean Ogilivie, Todd Griffin & Charles Griffin. Nieces: Phyllis Walker, Denise Ogilivie, Donna Ogilivie, Debra Mundine, Millicent Washington, Sherri Washington, Sharon Barron, Michelle Barron, & Jaime Barron, Connie Griffin Jones, Alice Griffin, Talisha Griffin, Kita Griffin #grandchildren/#nieces/#nephews/pets (who will miss them dearly)

Funeral Services will be at 12;00 PM on 9th, September, 2020, at Tallahassee National Cemetery with interment following.

In keeping with his/her wishes, no formal services will be held.
