Jane grew up in Baxley, GA and was a graduate of Appling County Highschool and a cheerleader as well as in the Marching Band. She was a 1961 graduate of the University of Georgia, and an avid Bulldog supporter.
Jane was an elementary education major and a teacher in Sandy Springs and Winder, GA before moving to Tallahassee in 1971. There she and her husband, Cecil began The House of 10,000 Picture Frames. They were both active in the business until they sold it in 2007. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and a member of Calvary Road Baptist Church in Maggie Valley, NC. She was also a volunteer for Haywood Christian Ministries. She was a crafter and loved making holiday decorations and spent many hours quilting, glass fusing, crocheting, wood carving, scroll sawing, and painting in their mountain home. She and Cecil did fine art restoration after they sold their business. Jane was full of energy and had a positive and realistic outlook, faith in God and loved her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Huldah Elizabeth Weatherly and father, James Clarence Fulghum. She is survived by her husband Cecil of 59 1/2 years; sister, Beth Hardee (Frank); children, C.R. “Cris” Simpson III (Margaret) and Huldah Simpson, of Lake Junaluska, NC and Tallahassee; grandchildren, James and Eleanor; as well as many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at 11:30 AM at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Rd, Tallahassee, FL. The family will begin receiving guests at 11:00 AM.
