Jamie was born in Donalsonville, Georgia, and settled in Tallahassee. In his younger years he worked on several area plantations and then went to work for the City of Tallahassee. After his retirement from the City he raised daylilies and vegetables. He loved tractors and bulldozers and clearing land. His past few months were spent watching westerns and Christian television.
Jamie was a veteran of the Army he loved southern cooking and his weekly mullet plate and Taylor's Pride chewing tobacco!
Jamie is survived by his wife Wanda Beasley Braswell and her children Lila Dyer (Jody), Tommy Beasley (Teresa), Terri Thornton, (Joey) and his brothers Norman Braswell (Cynthia) and Fletcher Braswell (Jackie). He has 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a m Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Culley’s MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel with burial to follow in MeadowWood Memorial Park.
Donations may be made to the Big Bend Hospice - 1723 Mahan Center Blvd. Tallahassee, FL 32308 in his memory and for the EXCELLENT care he received.
