James Park Goodson Sr.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2010 at Lakeview Baptist Church, 222 W. 7th Avenue, with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday (Today) in Culley’s MeadowWood Riggins Road Chapel.

He was born February 29, 1916 in Flat-Creek Community, Gadsden County, Florida to William Dexter and Annie Laura Ferrell Goodson. He was a World War II veteran and a self-employed salesman. He was a Christian and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a strong dependable person ready to serve God, his country, his family and friends to the best of his ability all of his life.

He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers, two sisters and his beloved wife Mary Faircloth Goodson.

He is survived by his son, James Park Goodson, Jr. and wife Nancy, daughter Anna Goodson Rollo and husband Sonny. Rollo, Rachael Weston, Sarah Weston, Alexis Goodson, James Park Goodson IV, Carson Rutland and Brice Rutland.

Park Goodson, Sr. was deeply loved and respected by his family and friends.
