James (Jim) Thomas Beaman (91) died on July 10, 2022, surrounded by family. He is survived by his daughters Sandra Radulski (Michael) and Jenny Taylor (Steve), and his son James Thomas Beaman, Jr. (Julie), as well as 5 grandsons – Alec Radulski (Christie), Keith Radulski, Royce Taylor, Brandon Taylor, and Parker Beaman – and 2 great-grandchildren, Felix Radulski and Violet Radulski. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Jane Kittrell Beaman.
Upon graduating from East Carolina University in 1957, James, his wife Jane and baby daughter Sandra moved to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida where he was employed by the U.S. Air Force Auditor General. In 1962 he accepted a position with Florida State University, so the family relocated to Tallahassee. He retired in 1992 after a long career with the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services.
Tallahassee became the home James and Jane had dreamed of finding. He and Jane enjoyed all sports, especially baseball and in fact, Jim did not miss a baseball opening day for Florida State for over 40 consecutive years.
James was a past member of the Tallahassee Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Civitan Club. He was a current member of the National Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3308, the Tallahassee American Legion Post #13, U.S. Navy Cruisers Association, the Navy League, and St. Paul Association. James served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War.
The family does not plan a service at this time and would like to thank Big Bend Hospice for their tender care and support.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.CulleysMeadowWood.com for the Beaman family.
