Ida Ann graduated from Florida High School, and she received a Bachelor’s degree in Leisure Services from Florida State University. She married Lewis Harper in April of 1982.
Ida Ann had an amazing career for over 40 years at Trousdell Gymnastics Center with Tallahassee City Parks and Recreation. Ann was influential in the growth of many programs at the center, most of all the pre-school program. Ann also used to run and organize the Teddy Bear Olympics and made all of the art for the program and worked with many children from all over the region. She inspired many youths throughout her years of work. Most people who knew Ann did not realize how talented she was because she was so humble. Ann loved gardening, drawing, painting, sewing, spoiling her fur babies and grandkids. There really was nothing Ann couldn’t do! She lived every day to its fullest always moving and taking care of everyone she loved. Ann had a great love with her husband, Lewis, and their love story spanned the length of 43 years. Ann and Lewis loved being together especially at Disney. She loved to bring her family and friends to Disney, “The Happiest Place on Earth”.
Ann is preceded in death by her mom, Elizabeth, and her father, Wallace P. She is survived by her loving husband, Lewis Harper; her fur and feathered babies; her two adopted daughters and their families, Katie Bell (Jamel Bell) Kennedy and Cayden Bell, Erin Dunn-Caquimbo, David, Aaron, Adleigh and Piper Caquimbo; and several aunts and uncles.
A graveside service will be held Monday, January 30, 2023 at 3pm at MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312.
