Edwin” Lamar” Fuller, born on May 25, 1947, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Viola Nichols Fuller, and father Oyd Lee Fuller.
Mr. Fuller was born and resided in Daleville, Alabama, until the age of six, when his family moved to Tallahassee. He attended school at Chaires Elementary School, Cobb Middle School, and Leon High School where he graduated in 1965. Known as Lamar to friends and family, he worked at what is now Century Link Phone Company where he was known and admired for his values, honesty, and good work ethic. He loved his job because it was challenging, and he was placed in a position to help others. Lamar enjoyed going on yearly cruises all over the Caribbean, with his wife and family. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and he attended every race possible, always pulling for Jimmy Johnson in the 48 car. He also loved to ride his Harley Davidson all over the countryside.
He is survived by; his wife, Janet Trice Fuller; four daughters, René Gray and son-in-law, Marcus Gray, whom he loved like his own son, both of Valdosta, Georgia, Nancy Udell of Tallahassee, Florida, April Fuller Hellquist of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jan Fuller, of Tallahassee, Florida; four siblings, Gayle Fuller, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, Bruce Fuller of Tallahassee, Florida, Elizabeth Fuller Sellers of Cairo, Georgia, Norris Fuller and sister-in-law Brenda of Kings Mountain , North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Cory Tanner of Tallahassee, Florida, Shadon Gray Clark and husband Brett, both of North Pole, Alaska, Robert Udell of Tallahassee, Florida, Kayla Fuller, Luke Williamson and Tara Williamson all of Kenosha,Wisconsin and Michael Fuller of Tallahasee, Florida; one great-granddaughter, Coryn Tanner of Tallahassee, Florida; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Lamar was a born again Christian and he is now resting in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed, and will always live in our hearts.
Funeral Service will be from Culley’s MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel, 700 Timberlane Road at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011 with interment in MeadowWood Memorial Park (850) 893-4177.
