Charles, affectionately known as "Van" was born on December 23, 1942. He was a graduate of Leon High school in the class of 1960.
An avid Seminole fan, he graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Criminology. Shortly after graduating from FSU, he joined the Navy. Afterwards, he became a Navy Criminal Investigations Agent and served for 20 years all over the world, including Morocco and Vietnam and finally Washington D.C. at the Pentagon.Van was highly respected as an agent and carried out many significant cases for the Navy. Upon retirement from the Navy, Van moved back to Tallahassee where he was the Inspector General for the Department of Health and the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
During his last tour with NCIS in Washington D.C., Van a confirmed bachelor, met the love of his life, Pamela Hess. He and Pamela were married in 1987 and spent nearly 38 happily married years together.
They had a son, Charles Van Buren Page IV, for whom Van was an adoring and proud father. Van was a kind, beloved husband and was loved by all who met him for his keen intelligence, sweet nature, gentlemanly ways, a fine wit, and famous sense of humor.
He is survived by his adoring and devoted wife, Pamela, his beloved son Charlie, his loving sister Catherine Page Stromberg of Dallas, Texas, and a sister in law Elizabeth Caggiano (Lou) of Ocean View Delaware. Van was blessed with two nieces and three nephews, four great nephews and two great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paula and Charles Page of Tallahassee.
A funeral service will be held on January 4, 2025 at 2PM at St. John's Episcopal Church, 211 North Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Fl.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or Big Bend Hospice.
