Born Florence Carolyn Laslie on February 22, 1936 to Eloise and William Woodson Laslie in Quincy, Florida. Carolyn went peacefully to join her only love, Glynn Duncan, on September 19, 2014. Her husband of 58 years predeceased her in May 2013.
She graduated from Whigham High School in 1954. After moving to Tallahassee, Carolyn worked many years for the Florida Legislature and the Leon County Tax Collector’s Office. Carolyn devoted her life to her family and friends. She was a faithful member of Saint Paul’s Methodist Church and the Ed Wynn Sunday School Class.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters and devoted sons-in-law, Cindy and Dave Kucheman and Stephanie and Brent Coughlin of Tallahassee. Carolyn was lovingly known as “Memaw” to her four grandchildren: Missouri and Julianna Coughlin and Chandler and Cameron Kucheman. She was most proud of each of them and they brought her much joy. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Reynolds and brother Wayne Laslie (Mary Pat) as well as many nieces and nephews. Carolyn also enjoyed a loving relationship with Glynn’s extended family.
Carolyn was a gracious southern lady. She always had a sweet smile that made everyone she came in contact with feel loved. Her passing will forever leave a void in the lives of her family and her many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church. Visitation will take place at Saint Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1700 N. Meridian Road on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements: Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL.
