Mrs. Creamer began her life in Savannah, GA as the daughter of a firefighter and a homemaker. In her teens she was a candy striper at the hospital in Savannah and a lifeguard at the Fresh Air Home on Tybee Beach. She married and moved to Montana as a military wife and returned to Tallahassee a few years later. She worked as a bookkeeper for Champion Chevrolet, for Reagan and Roberts Oil Co., and for various other organizations. Using her talents throughout her life, Mrs. Creamer loved gardening, crocheting and crafts, cooking, baking, cake decorating and other creative endeavors. She was a member of Celebration Baptist Church, and she loved her Heavenly Father with all of her heart. Most of all, she enjoyed fall trips to the Smoky Mountains with her husband and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Grady Ward of Savannah, GA and her sister, Wanda Beutner of Pooler, GA.
She is survived by her husband - George Creamer of Tallahassee, FL; her mother - Mildred Ward currently of Fairview, NC; her son - George Creamer, Jr. and wife Dawn of Tallahassee, FL; her daughter - Debbie Melvin and husband Mark of Cañon City, CO; 11 grandchildren - Zachary, Megan and Daniel Creamer of Tallahassee, FL, Savannah Donaldson and husband Bradley of Valdosta, GA, EmmaLeigh, Mallory, and Stephen Brannon of Cañon City, CO, Annabelle Moret of Tallahassee, FL, Bailey, Indigo and Jasmynn Melvin of Cañon City, CO; her sister – Merrilyn Murray and husband Gerald of Black Mountain, NC; many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Mrs. Creamer, a beautiful person who most often put others wants and needs before her own, touched many lives throughout her life. She will be missed by all who have known her.
Public visitation will be on Thursday, May 12, 2016 from 6-8 PM at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home on Timberlane Road in Tallahassee. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, May 13, 2016 also at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home with burial to immediately follow .
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Big Bend Hospice, Covenant Hospice, Lighthouse Children’s Home, missions, or favorite charity in honor of their loved one.
