Carol Jean Collier, 70, of Tallahassee died Tuesday at her home in the arms of her loving husband. A native of Zeeland, Michigan, she came to Tallahassee from Ft. Lauderdale in 1981. She had been the lunch room coordinator and supervisor for Maranatha Christian School for over 20 years and then worked for Leon County School System within their food service department. She had been a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. She was a person who always had a smile and everyone thought of as being the sweetest person they knew.
She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Nelvia Nyenbrink, and special niece Cindy DeJonge Spalding. Carol is survived by her husband: Doug; daughters: Christine (Jason) Dodson of Quincy, Cheryl (James) Conte of Tallahassee; son: Daniel (Sandy) of Sneads; sister: Sharon (Ray) DeJonge of Zeeland, Michigan; brother: George (Debbie) Nyenbrink of Davie; grandchildren: Violet, Crystal, Andrew Collier, Cynthia Conte, James, Jacob Dodson; and a special niece: Penny (Mark) Smith of Zeeland, Michigan.
Services will be held Thursday (3/5) at 11:00 AM in the Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Chapel, Timberlane Road. Public visitation will be from 10:30 until time of service.
