Barbara was a member of the Deer Lake United Methodist Church in Tallahassee, Florida and enjoyed volunteering and singing in the choir. She loved spending time with family, caring for her dog(s), volunteering, going to the beach, traveling and shopping. She was an avid Seminole fan from the day she arrived in Tallahassee and would watch them play any chance she got.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Janet, her sisters Eunice (Carter) and Joyce (Ted) and her husband of 25 years, Monroe “Roy” Clark Nichols.
Barbara never remarried and remained devoted to Roy since his death in 1988.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Janis (Robert), son Greg (Kim), brother Robert, brother in law Bill (Carol), sister-in-law Gail (Jim), five grandchildren, Lindsey (Ryan), Lauren, Nicolas, Garrett and Megan, and the many nephews and nieces she loved and treasured.
Barbara was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, friends and especially her dogs. She loved the holidays and was particularly fond of Easter. All who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, charm, grace (when pertinent) and undying love and care for them.
The family would like to thank all of those who cared for her and were able to spend time with her over the last year.
Funeral Services will be at 4:00 PM on February 24, 2023 at Deer Lake United Methodist Church in Tallahassee, Florida. The family will receive family and friends immediately after the service.
