William Freelun “Bill” Sparks was born on November 18th, 1963 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of William Joe and Betty Louise (Patton) Sparks. He attended school in Tahlequah. He was a barn builder and mechanic by trade. On April 2001, he began life with his companion, Ila Shelton. Together they enjoyed 14 years together. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor and was constantly playing pranks on his family and friends. He loved his dogs, they were beagle/terrier mix and followed him everywhere he went, especially Boudro , Sassy, Chevy, and Monte Carlo. Bill’s pet rabbit Bugsy could often be found riding the lawnmower resting on Bill’ lap. He could be found out doors cutting wood, or firing up the smoker to make his family one of his famous BBQ dinner. He loved to have his family over for dinner, and made the best ribs, grilled vegetables, and potato soup you ever ate. He loved working with his hands, and built barn and engines and anything else someone might need. He was the neighbor that was always there for you in your time of need. He and his buddy Wes occasionally went out rock crawling, and never lost the chance to gather with his family for a day out in the yard. Bill thought the world of his family and cherished every day he had with them. Bills love of life was infectious, he could make you smile and be glad to spend the day with him. Bill’s health began to fail him and he passed from this life on June 10th, 2015 at his home in Hulbert with his beloved Ila and family by his side. He was 51 years old. He will be greatly missed.
Bill has gone on to be with his father, grandparents, William and Mary Sparks and Freelun and Lizzy Patton, one brother Kenny Joe Sparks, and two sisters, Cathy Dallis ,Mary Ellen Patsy, and his two brother-in-laws, Jeff Ellis and Alfred Dallis.
