Travis Dean Whorton was born May 21st, 1976 in Siloam Springs, AR, the son of Manford Dean and Linda Sue (Davis) Whorton. He was raised, loving horses and the outdoors. A passion for horses was a quality he shared with his dad. As a child, he would compete in horse shows. He loved every moment out working on the land and was big on trading horses with other equine enthusiast. Travis followed in the family business of carpentry work with his uncles, Darvin and Garland along with other family friends. No matter what he put his hands too, he was never afraid of hard work. He took pride in the skills and trades passed down from his family. Throughout his life, he kept a strong relationship with his parents. A bit of a momma’s boy, to him, she was his life. After her passing in 2005, he continued taking care of his dad, Manford. Only 15 months apart, his sister, Kimberley, was one of his best friends. They would talk or visit on a daily bases and her children, Kaitlynne and Colton have looked up to Travis as a father figure throughout their life. One of his favorite pastimes was heading out to the swimming hole and floating out at Spring Creek with his cousin or friends. His cousin, Jeff, has been a lifelong friend and there for him, no matter what. He had a ton of family and friends and was the most loving and caring soul anyone would meet. With a heart of gold, he would give the shirt off his back and never had a cross word towards anyone. Over the years, Travis’ health began to fail and on Monday, December 26th, 2022, he passed from this life at the age of 46 years old to be reunited with his mom and dad whom he loved dearly.
