Ruby Geneva Mitchell was born on October 15th, 1943 in Colcord, OK, the daughter of Buster and Mable (Jackson) Mitchell. She was raised in a home with one brother Lonus and five sisters, Evelyn, Darlene, Karen, Dinah, and Lelia. Upon finishing school, she began her family, raising her children, Tandy, Tonya, Sarah, Rhonda, Colby, Kendall, and Ace. She was a devoted wife and mother, always going the extra mile to make life good for those she loved. When she wasn’t cooking meals or washing laundry, Ruby loved the great out doors. There was nothing she enjoyed more than a day at the river, camping out under the stars. She liked to work in her flower beds and was always happy to see the return of the hummingbirds to her garden each year. She made very good salsa and canned it for her family to enjoy year round. Of all the things she did, the best part of her day was any chance to gather her family together, just spending time together was enough to make Ruby smile. She was a true and faithful friend and could spend all kinds of time on the phone, sharing news of the day with her friends. She was always ready to go spend a little time with her friends or play Bingo. A Christian by faith, the Lord called this hard working woman home from her labors on September 3rd, 2017 in Tulsa, OK with her family by her side. She was 73 years old. She will be greatly missed for all the love she shared.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, her adored daughter Rhonda Watts, and two grandsons, Shelby Watts and Colby Watts.
