Michael Ray Richey was born on June 1st, 1974 in Muskogee, OK, the son of M.C. and Sharon Kay (Russell) Richey. He grew up in a household that included his best friend and brother, John. The family lived in Okay, where the boys went to school. Michael couldn’t wait to go fishing or hunting and loved playing sports of all types, especially baseball and soccer. He worked at Tubular Corporation, driving forklift and crane operator at the Port of Muskogee. When he had some free time, he loved to play music and had taught himself the banjo, fiddle and guitar. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved people and thought far more of others than he ever thought of himself. His family was very special to him and he loved gathering for the holidays or other special occasions to spend the day and share memories. His life wasn’t without its fair share of problems, he lost a son, Adam Charles and his mother, Sharon. True to his Christian faith, he accepted what he couldn’t change and waited for the day he would see them again. The Lord called Michael home from his many labors on July 24th, 2023. He was 49 years old and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Lillian Luru (Bell) Richey, Ray and Maggie (Lovett) White, his son, Adam Charles Richey, his beloved mother, Sharon Kay (Russell) Richey, and one uncle, David Eugene Richey. Grandfather, John Russell
