Lois Fritts was born on Saturday, October 31st, 1925 in Preston, OK, the daughter of Clarence Eldon and Bessie Pauline (Ritchie) Anno. She grew up with her four brothers and three sisters, and graduated from Baggley High School in Tahlequah. She attended school at Bacone and obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing in 1960. She was attending the movies in Tahlequah one evening in 1946, and the restaurant across the street sold a bigger coke for the same amount of money. Never one to throw her money away, Lois walked across the street and was observed by a young man recently home from the war, Arthur Lee Fritts. He asked if he could walk her back to the movies and sit by her, 10 days and three dates later, they married. This union was blessed with 64 years and three children. Lois was a dedicated nurse and worked tirelessly to care for her patients at Muskogee General Hospital. When her shift was finished, she went home to care for her husband and children. Lois kept their home spotless and made the best home cooked meals ever, her coconut and chocolate cream pies were marvelous, and no one came close to her light as air biscuits, her pot roast and potatoes, and her fried chicken dinners were legendary! She was the consummate professional, always neat, tidy and on time. After she retired, she enjoyed camping with her husband and going to do a little fishing. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A Southern Baptist by faith, Lois attended the First Baptist Church of Okay and later Steeley Hollow Baptist. She was always available to do music ministry by leading the music and volunteered at Steeley Springs and Go Ye Village. Her husband Arthur passed from this life in 2009. Lois kept busy until her health no longer allowed her to remain at home. She moved into Eastgate Village in Muskogee and lived there until her death on Saturday, June 22nd, 2019. She was 93 years old and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, husband Arthur, one son, Frank Edward Fritts in 2000, four brothers, Clarence Jr., Curtis, Steven, and Jesse Anno, and her two sisters, Carol Jean Anno and Martha Ann Anno, who died in childhood. She has lost two great grandchildren, Amanda Stark in 1986 and Dakota Wayne Stark in 2011, and twin great grandsons, Ian Allen and Owen Everett Hatcher.
