Park Hill, OK- Funeral services for Janey Lee Phillips-Lee will be held on Monday, October 21st, 2013 at 11:00 am at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Jim Wilson officiating. Interment will be held at Philips Cemetery in Cherokee County.
Pallbearers for Janey include Josiah Finney, Curtis Rutherford, Zach Dale, Matt Thompson, Chester Wilbanks, and Robert Poor. Honorary pallbearers include Keith Johnson, Luke Thompson, and Trenton Dale.
Janey Lee Phillips Lee was born on February 2nd, 1959 in Tulsa, OK the daughter of Andrew Phillips and Vina Poor Phillips. She attended school at Tahlequah. She married Jerry Lee. Janey was a hospital nurses aide and home health provider around the Vian area. She was a kind, compassionate, and loving nurse. Her patients were treated with loving kindness and concern. She was the proud mother of Matt Thompson, Tracy Thompson, Lacie Dale, and Justin Phillips, who preceded her in death. Whenever Janey had the time, she enjoyed fishing with her family. She was a gifted gardener and raised beautiful vegetables. Janey was a wonderful cook and made the best biscuits, and her fried chicken was unsurpassed. She had a soft spot in her heart for anumals of all kinds, especially her horses, chicken, ducks, and her canine companions. She was the lady you could count on for a big smile and a kind word. There was nothing more important to Janey than her grandchildren. She adored each and every one of them and was so very proud of every milestone they passed along life’s way. She was their biggest supporter in all their endeavors. Janey loved her family and every chance she got was spent enjoying a cup of coffee and a good conversation. Janey had spirit and a love of life, unfortunately, her body became tired and she passed from this life on October 15th, 2013 in Tulsa, OK. Janey was 54 years old. She is missed by her many family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry Lee, her son, Justin Phillips, and her siblings, Andy Phillips, Wiley Phillips, and Alice Phillips.
Those left to cherish her memory include her adored children, Matt Thompson of Tahlequah, Tracy Thompson of Tahlequah, and Lacie Dale and husband Zack of McCloud, KS. She leaves three loving sisters, Brenda Phillips of Park Hill, Virginia Wilbanks and husband Chester of Owasso, and Sue Ann Maxey and husband Mike of Park Hill, OK. Her legacy lives on in her six wonderful grandchildren, Brianna Thompson of Park Hill, Trenton Dale of McCloud, KS, Trinity Dale of McCloud, KS, Luke Thompson of Park Hill, Tennyson Dale of McCloud, KS, and Josiah Finney of Stilwell, OK as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
