Dewitt J. Chuculate, or Dj to his family and friends, was born on July 16th, 1954 in Arkansas, City, KS, the son of Joseph and Ira Belle (Ballard) Chuculate. He grew up in a family with his four brothers and one sister, Wiley, Joseph Jr., Kenneth, Richard and Julia. He graduated from Hulbert High School in 1972. He enlisted in the United States Army and serve until his honorable discharge. It was then he decided he wanted to work in construction and worked as a labor supervisor most of his working career. He lived in Colorado, in the Denver area, and helped to build the Denver Stadium. He was the proud father of his daughter, Lisa, and he never tired of her company or all her activities. Any chance he had to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren was special for Dj. When he wasn’t working, he loved to spend his free time fishing on the pond on his place, or teaching his grandchildren to fish. He could raise the most beautiful tomatoes and other vegetables in his garden. He had the kind of personality that made you think you had known him his whole life, and never wasted the chance to make people smile and laugh, he never stopped smiling. He was often found around his yard, in the company of his canine companions Miracle and Buster, and his cat, Pussycat. Dj liked to catch up with his friends at the casino and spread some stories and do a little gaming. He simply loved people and never tired of helping in any way he could to make their lives a bit easier. A Baptist by faith, he worked at New Hope Church, helping keep the grounds tidy, doing little odd jobs and anything else asked of him. For all the things he had planned, the Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his many labors on April 15th, 2022 in Tulsa, OK. He was 67 years old and leaves a legacy of love and laughter for his family to follow.
