Carol Anett (Stites) Stopp was born in Tahlequah, OK on Sunday, December 26th, 1954, the daughter of Harley Stites and Mary (Bailey) Green. Carol was raised with one brother, James and knowing of her sister, Barbara, who passed early on. Carol graduated from Hulbert High School and remained a lifelong member of Cherokee County. She decided this was where she would raise her two children, Adam and Amber. Carol worked as a sanitation technician. The best part of her day was, going home to the family she loved and relaxing in her own home. She was always listening to music of some kind or curled up watching TV, she loved science fiction. She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend you could relax and be comfortable with. She loved to see you smile, even it if meant she had to be ornery to get your attention. Her laughter was infectious, and she could make you smile on the darkest day. Her family was everything to Carol. She was the proudest grandma of her three grandchildren, Tashia, Chrishia, and JD. She was so proud of them, and loved every moment she had to spend in their company. Carol’s health began to fail her, and the Lord called this loving mother and grandmother home from her labors on Monday, June 3rd, 2019 in Tulsa, OK, with her family by her side. She was 64 years old and will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
Carol is preceded in death by her mother, father, brother, sister, and husband Floyd Morris.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Adam Stopp of Ft. Smith, AR, and Amber Gregoire and husband Brett of Tahlequah, OK. She lives on in her three grandchildren, Tashia Girdner, Chrisia Girdner, and JD Girdner all of Stilwell, OK, as well as many cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones.
