Carl Archie Stacy was born on July 15th, 1929, in Wagoner, OK, the son of John E. and Ethel Mae (Eden) Stacy. He attended school at Oakdale, Braggs, Needmore and finally Wagoner. Carl grew up in a family with thirteen brothers and sisters, on the family farm, where everyone pulled their weight to keep the bills paid. It was during the war that his brother, Paskell was killed overseas. Carl left school and traveled to Oregon and worked in the lumber industry to help the family with finances. In 1948, he married Pauline Leep, and it was at this point in time Carl began working construction. In 1951, Curtis Edward Stacy was born. In Liberal KS, the family remained there where Carl worked for Beech Aircraft working on 33 jets. In 1953, Debra Sue joined the family. In 1950, the family packed up and moved to Arizona, and it was here that Carl worked for 26 years, as a heavy equipment operator for Kennecut Copper Mines. In 1975, he was retired with total disability due to back issues. In 1976, he and Pauline were divorced. Carl moved back to Tahlequah to care for his parents and met Alta Jordan, the love of his life and his second wife, marrying on August 29th, 1980. Together, they enjoyed many activities in life, from dancing at the Elks Club to going fishing. There was a beautiful yard at home and a great big garden, full of produce and flowers, and his apples were simply the best. He had the kind of personality that made you feel right at home. He was loving and funny, with a bit of an ornery streak. He was always there for his family, they meant everything to Carl. He adored his grandchildren, and loved any time he had to spend with them, watching them play sports or sharing a laugh or two. Carl and Alta loved traveling the countryside. They were always ready to see something new. A Baptist by faith, Carl and Alta attended grace Baptist Church in Tahlequah. Alta passed from this life in 2006, and afterwards, Carls health began to fail him. He was living with his brother Vernon when he required more constant care at Osage Nursing Home in Nowata. The Lord called his good and faithful servant home from his labors on Friday, April 13th, 2018 in Nowata with his family by his side. Carl was 88 years old. He will be greatly missed for all the love he shared with those who knew him best.
Carl is preceded in death by his mother, father, first wife, Pauline, second wife Alta, third wife, Reba, two brothers, James Eugene Stacy, Paskell Stacy, and six sisters, Effie Marie Stacy, Rachel Stacy, Wanda Lee Stacy, Lecel Stacy, Vivian Peace, and Irene Downs, and sisters in law, Dollie Stacy and Deana Stacy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Edward Curtis Stacy and wife Donna of Kearnry, AZ and Debra Nolta and husband Lyle of LA. He leaves his brothers and sisters, Cecil Stacy of Nowata, JB Stacy of Oklahoma City, OK, Fredy Stacy and wife JoAnn of Coweta, Vernon Stacy and wife Audrey of Nowata, and Norma Peace of Chandler, AZ. He lives on in his grandchildren, as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
