Dorothy Rotzler, 92, of Taft, Texas passed away January 20, 2018. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 1, 1925. Dorothy graduated from Brackenridge High School and received a Bachelors of Music from North Texas State University. She married John F. “Fred” Rotzler, Jr. on August 30, 1948.
Dorothy had a career in Elementary Education in the Taft Public Schools for 30 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Taft where she served as treasurer for many years. She served on the Taft Public Library Board for 22 years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John F. “Fred” Rotzler, Jr., parents, Walter and Helen Treybig and her sister Ursula Koltermann. She is survived by her children, Carol (Ronnie) Kelley, Joyce West, Kenny (Cindy) Rotzler and Glenn (Liz) Rotzler; grandchildren, Neal Kelley, Kyle Kelley, Sam West, Amy Rotzler, Kelly Rotzler, Courtney Rotzler and Kimberly Rotzler and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Faith Lutheran Church. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 in San Fernando III Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
