Miss Sylvia Ann Owens

Sylvania –Sylvia Ann Owens, age 72, passed away on February 1, 2018 at University Hospital in Augusta, GA. She was born in Screven County, GA to the late Sammie Joseph & Thelma Waldine Friese Owens, was a member Hiltonia United Methodist Church and was retired from Torrington Co. where she worked as custodian. She was loved by all her family almost as much as she loved them. She was strong willed and an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Brother: Douglas Owens.

Survivors: Brother and Sister-In-Law: Jerry & Earlene Owens of Sylvania; Niece: Debra Haley of Sylvania; Nephew: Jerry Ronnie Owens, Jr. of Sardis, GA; Great-Nieces: Savannah Owens of Sylvania, Rosha Lockhart of Rincon, GA and Renee Dugan of Jacksonville, FL.

Visitation: Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ralph Dixon and Rev. Steve Sirmons officiating. Burial following at Bascom Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Larry Whitehead, Chris Reddick, Bill Forehand, Calvin Moore, Floyd Williams and Bo Smith.
