Priscilla H. Mitchell

Priscilla H. Mitchell, age 77, of Sylacauga passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. Visitation will be Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 10-11 am at Curtis and Son North Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 am. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Brother Paul Masters. Priscilla was born and raised in Sylacauga. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her family with all her heart. She loved working in her yard, baking, crafting, traveling, attending luncheons with life-long friends and attending her grandchildren’s events. She was a lifelong member of Mignon Church of Christ. Priscilla set an example for her family as she lived out her faith in the Lord throughout her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Pate; son, Jack (Jay) C. Mitchell, Jr (Tonya); grandchildren, Tara (Jonathan) Lawhorn; Blake (Stormi) Gardner; Cody Pate (Haydn Hughes), Dalton Pate, Jack C. Mitchell, III and Annie Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Brighton Clary, Jett Clary, Cash Gardner, Caroline Mitchell; sisters, Hilda Thornton and Martine Hughes; brother, David Hughes. She is proceeded in death by husband, Jack C. Mitchell, Sr.; her parents, James Reece and Inez Hughes; brother, Gene Hughes.

The family would like to thank the Coosa Valley Medical Center ICU staff, Dr. Davis and Coosa Valley Hospice.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Hughes, Byron Hughes, Jonathan Lawhorn, Cody Pate, Dalton Pate, Jack C. Mitchell, III, Adam Gardner and Cason Gardner. Honorary Pallbearers will Jack (Jay) C. Mitchell, Jr, Blake Gardner and Jason Clary.
