John Franklin Odom

John Franklin Odom - Sylacauga - Funeral services for John Franklin Odom, 84, will be Saturday, March 31, at 2:00 PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Steven Ray officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Odom passed away March 28, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Odom's teaching career included Mobil County, Sylacauga City, Talladega City, Talladega County, Coosa County. His military service was in U.S. Army Company E, 5th Infantry. He received Army of Occupation Medal, WWII Victory Medal, his duty while station in Europe guarded P.O.Ws who had served as Austrian and German Army officers. He is preceded in death by spouse of 53 years, Joy Ann Argo Odom, granddaughter, Tye Kristen Stewart, foster parents, Clifton and Mary Ellen Ward. He is survived by sons, John Odom, Jr., of Sylacauga; Ken Odom (Susan), of Sylacauga; David Odom (Amelia), of Riverside; daughter, Elizabeth Stewart (Bobby), of Clanton; grandchildren, John

Wesley Stewart, Paul Cameron Odom, Eric Chase Stewart, Calah Odom Ray, Jennifer Odom Mitchell; great grandchildren, Allison Grace Odom, Anna Grace Mitchell, Carter Wilson Ray.
